5 Must See Acts – Liverpool Sound City (2017)

Festival season has definitely kicked in and it’s only May! Next weekend sees the 10th anniversary of Liverpool Sound City and they’ve gone big with the line up. As always, Dash ‘n’ Verve have dug below the surface to unearth the best up and coming new talent you should be making your way to see. Here’s our pick of “5 Must See Acts” that will be playing over the bank holiday weekend.

Estrons (@ESTRONS_MUSIC)

Scuzzy, indie-rock with a healthy dollop of guttural bass bounce and a great vocal lead.

Where: The Atlantic Stage
Showtime: Saturday 27 May @ 12:30

K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade (@ZongoBrigade)

Good time afro-fusion inspired fun with splashes of D&B and reggae from this full band set up. We could dance all day and night to this.

Where: The Cavern Stage
Showtime: Saturday 27 May @ 21:15

Oya Paya (@weareOyaPaya)

Are they a band, a rap collective, an exotic fruit you’ve never heard of before? We know they’re not the latter and we also know that we are big fans of their creative combination of styles (blues, hip-hop, R&B, spice) they throw into the cooking pot that they make their music in.

Where: Tim Peaks Diner Tent
Showtime: Sunday 28 May @ 12:15

The Golden Age of TV (@tgaotv)

Springy guitars and keys sounds, punchy pop drums and a vocal that is soft, haunting and mighty all at the same time.

Where: The Cavern Stage
Showtime: Sunday 28 May @ 12:50

The Baltic States (@TheBalticStates)

Commanding and powerful vocals, sturdy and expansive sonic backdrops. This will be a wonder to watch live.

Where: The Pirate Studio Stage
Showtime: Sunday 28 May @ 20:30

Plenty on show there to please all tastes. Get out and support these awesome acts if you’re at Liverpool Sound City.
