Séyaa – LATE

#NewMusic from Nelson, Canada

Secretive Séyaa has blessed us with ‘Late’. Starting out as a mysterious jazz soundscape before developing into a sultry story of amor. Allow yourself to drift away into a hazy, self reflective state as this one plays out.

Hoodlem – Teenager

#NewMusic from Toronto, Canada

Whilst the music swells, flitting left and right in the stereo field, Hoodlem’s vocal on ‘Teenager’ stays true and centred as if her eyes are locked on to you for every word she delivers. There’s a vulnerability to the way she sings that draws you closer as the song progresses. Which, as it happens, is exactly what she wants from the subject of her lyrics. No doubt this one had the desired effect.

Sterling Grove – Way I Used To

#NewMusic from Montreal, Canada

Slowly, slowly this one builds with its misty forest by the like feel. Then, it just opens up infront, like a clearing in said forest. This is a real early morning festival tent pleaser, spacious and gently euphoric. The vocal lines are sparse throughout the song but when they’re there, they give you that little extra taste you were looking for.

Saya – Paid

#NewMusic from Toronto, Canada

You’re strolling down the hill towards the main stage of your first festival of the year, all you can hear is the throb of the bass. The snare starts to cut throught, then, just in time, you arrive to catch the soft opening lines from the star you’ve come to see. Close your eyes and imagine this as you listen in to Saya’s new track ‘Paid’. Oh, and the crispness of that snare roll – wow!
