King Slim – Choir Practice

#NewMusic from London, England

Absolute no nonsense crackly beats from King Slim and dead pan lyrical delivery courtesy of Sonnyjim on this exquisite slice of hazy hip-hop. The expanding horns (???) that appear as if from nowhere, play off against the slightly faster, yet equally loose guitars (???) so smoothly. Whilst the instrumentation has confused the heck out of us, one thing we’re sure of is that this is a must listen addition to your week in music.

Isadora – Visions

#NewMusic from London, England

This track is full of crafty juxtaposing parts. The depth of the opening bass swell, countered almost immediately by Isadora’s almost angelically sweet vocals totally intrigued us. The style of the beat tempts you into thinking you’re going to be slapped about by its toughness, when in fact it’s far more gentle to you. The blend works to craft a highly infectious piece of pop.

The Velvet Hands – Only Blame Myself

#NewMusic from London, England

The skittering beat at the start of this track totally caught us off guard. By the end we were fully on board and bouncing around the room, “woah-oah”ing like the best of them. There’s a relaxed feel to the way these lads perform together, yet at the same time this tune is so full of energy. Impressive!

p-rallel – Say Now

#NewMusic from London, England

Loving the loose, laid back vibe lashed with spacious reverb on this one. The multiple voices that dance around each other top it off. It’s like a journey into p-rallel’s mind and thought process.

The Golden Age of TV – Beast

#NewMusic from Leeds, England

We just love the pulsing punch from the bass, drums and chugg of the guitar that runs through this latest offering from TGAOTV. Other instruments come and go passing around and overhead, although never invading the space left front and centre for the vocal. When it finally lets loose before the breakdown is the perfect appetite wheter for the trimphant final crescendo, finished off again by that same plucky bass riff.
